Brendan O’Sullivan Solicitors is a general practice law firm in the heart of Cork City. The firm was set up 2018 by the Firm's Principal Brendan O'Sullivan who holds a 1st Class Honours Degree in Law and Business, a postgraduate LL.B Degree in Law and an LL.M Master’s Degree in Law from University College Cork. He also holds a Certificate in Advanced Litigation from the Law Society of Ireland. Having trained and worked in a medium sized commercial firm for a number of years, Brendan then joined a general practice firm in Cork City in December 2011 where he worked mainly in the areas of Employment Law, Family Law, Commercial Law, Sports Law, Residential and Commercial Property transactions and all aspects of Litigation including professional negligence, personal injuries, defamation and commercial disputes. Brendan is member of the Southern Law Association and also an advisor to the UCC Sports Law Clinic. As a Solicitor, Brendan is known for his success in resolving complex legal issues in a practical and efficient manner and in the best interest of the Client. Brendan has extensive experience at all court levels from District Court through to the Commercial Court.
Brendan has particular expertise in the area of Employment Law and has represented Clients at EAT, Equality Tribunal, Labour Court, LRC and WRC hearings with great success over the years. Brendan has successfully represented a number of clients in High Court Injunctions for breach of contract arising out of the unlawful termination of their employment.
Brendan also works in the area of Family Law and advises Clients on all aspects of family law including Access, Maintenance, Move away applications, Protection/Safety/Barring Order applications as well as Separation/Divorce Cases.
Brendan represents a number of Corporate Clients, providing a full range of legal services tailored to meet the needs of their business including drafting/reviewing commercial contracts/SLA’s, advising on HR matters and on a wide range of Company Law matters such as restructuring’s and Shareholders Agreements, Partnership Agreements, franchising and Company Set ups.
Brendan also has extensive experience in the area of Debt Collection and acts for the number of financial institutions in recovery of debts.
Brendan also deals with Road Traffic Offences and a range of Licensing matters for Clubs, Pubs and Restaurants in the District Court.
Brendan has a particular interest in the area of sports law. As a UEFA A Licenced Coach for Cork City FC, Brendan has a particular interest in Football and has represented Clients at FAI Disciplinary Hearings as well as in many others sports related legal issues, including seeking compensation for players injured through the negligence of others.
Brendan advises clients on all aspects of Residential and Commercial Property transactions. Brendan represents one of the largest commercial property owners in Cork, advising on all transfers, leasing, licensing, landlord and tenant and property disputes. Brendan advises first time buyers in all aspects of getting on the property ladder.
Having come from a farming background, Brendan qualified with an Agricultural Green Cert from Teagasc in 2003 and has a keen interest in all things farming and has advised clients in the creation of farm partnerships, farm transfers and issues regarding Dept. of Agriculture grants and other schemes. Brendan also has extensive experience in terms of dealing with all manner of forestry issues, and more recently has advised clients intending to licence property to wind farm companies for the installation of wind turbines.
Brendan has particular expertise in the area of Multi Unit Developments and in particular proceedings against Developers and other relevant parties for defects in their Estate/Development under the Multi Unit Development Act, 2011. Brendan has built up relationships with many Property Managing Agents/Auctioneering firms offering Management Services and on their instructions represents a number of Owners Management Companies throughout Cork City and County.
